Shipping Container Homes

We all know there are many ways to build a home... but have you thought about using SHIPPING CONTAINERS? I bet not!

The home shown below is located here in Denver Colorado and was built in 2016 using 9 shipping containers and a whole lot of creativity and gorgeous design! This beauty provides 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, & 3,000 sq ft of custom design from top to bottom. They stacked the containers to give the home 25 ft ceilings in the great room creating a truly open and grand space. The exterior features an incredible wood facade as well as accent colors, which compliment the modern design nicely. This is just the beginning of what you'll love though!

The kitchen is huge, open, and absolutely gorgeous! With counter space for days and upgraded appliances, it is a chef's dream! There's not one but TWO living spaces (one even has a projector screen & Netflix) along with a large front porch and back patio! There is also a private balcony off of the master bedroom!

I don't know about you but my first thought was shipping containers would make the space feel dark and dingy but that's far from the truth. There are a ton of windows offering more natural light than a typical home and the wrap-around balcony that leads to the rest of the rooms is a fantastic, open concept feature making it feel even more open and bright. The hardwood flooring gives it a warm and cozy feeling. Truly, every area of the home provides a comfortable feeling!

The oversized sliding glass door leading out to the backyard is another great way to increase and enhance the functional entertainment space while also keeping it intimate.

I am still in awe and now trying to figure out how I can build one of these myself! What are your thoughts? Would you live in one??
